I came across the idea of launching this site when I completed the oral defense of my doctoral project. My academic committee members asked what I would do with all the research I did. They encouraged me to continue because the topic was so relevant.
My journey in the Doctor of Psychology program was tough because I started it right before I quit my corporate job. Starting a business from scratch and trying to do all the academic work was really challenging. It was a long and tough journey but I came through and I came out transformed.
I really felt a change in me when I started to write the analysis chapters of my doctoral project on Digital Well-being. I felt a deep connection to the topic and felt there could be so much further research done on many questions that needs to be examined.
Also, I was inspired to look wider and deep into the evolution of technology. When we look at the technology by itself, we see a lot of tools, and that is it. But, when we look at things from the lens of long history, socio-economy, and evolution of humans, we see deeper historical trends that will shape a lot of new changes. Thinking about those possibilities bring a scientific curiosity as well as a sense of responsibility because it is our choices that will create how technology will be and how we will evolve and vice-versa.
So, we have to know more, and we have to make informed decisions.
This is the start of a long process.
